DACA Program Overview

Current DACA Status

• Renewals Only: USCIS currently only processes DACA renewal applications
• No New Applications: Initial applications are not being accepted
• Limited Window: Only those with status expiring between 9/5/2017 and 3/5/2018 can renew

Note: Those who never had DACA cannot currently apply

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for DACA you must:

1. Have entered the U.S. before age 16
2. Be under 31 as of 6/15/2012
3. Have continuously resided in the U.S. since 6/15/2007
4. Be physically present on 6/15/2012
5. Have no legal status on 6/15/2012
6. Meet education/military requirements:
- Currently in school OR
- Have high school diploma/GED OR
- Be an honorably discharged veteran
7. Have no serious criminal history

Required Documentation

Necessary proofs include:

• Identity Documents:
- Passport/birth certificate
- Government IDs

• Proof of Continuous Residence:
- School/medical records
- Employment history
- Financial records

• Education/Military Proof:
- Diplomas/transcripts
- GED certificate
- Military service records

Application Process

For eligible renewals:

1. File Form I-821D
2. Submit Form I-765 for work authorization
3. Pay $495 fee
4. Provide biometrics
5. Wait for USCIS processing

Processing Time: Typically 4-6 months
